Den Haag jumped into the top half of the Eredivisie table on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Willem II.

The first 60 minutes passed without a goal until Willem II's Jordens Peters was sent off for a foul inside his own penalty area, which allowed Danny Holla to fire home the spot kick in the 62nd minute.

Mike van Duinen then secured the win by scoring two minutes from time to help Den Haag to climb to seventh place.

The bottom two teams in the league squared off as NAC toppled Venlo, 4-1.

All five goals were scored in the first half as Kees Luijckx and Elson Hooi made it 2-0 to NAC inside 30 minutes before Nwofor Uche pulled a goal back for Venlo.

Danny Verbeek restored the two-goal lead for NAC and Anthony Lurling scored just before halftime to give the home team no way back.

The other contest on Saturday saw NEC and Roda play to a 0-0 draw as NEC's Kevin Conboy was sent off in the 66th minute.
