PHILADELPHIA – Quenton DeCosey scored 15 points and Jaylen Bond had 11 points and 13 rebounds to lead Temple to a 70-56 victory over LIU Brooklyn on Sunday.
Nura Zanna scored to give LIU Brooklyn a 39-31 lead with 18:38 remaining. Temple answered with a 17-6 surge, with DeCosey draining three 3-pointers, to put the Owls up 48-45 with 13:11 to play. A 16-7 run stretched the Owls' lead to 64-52 with 4:35 left.
Josh Brown scored 11 points, and Will Cummings chipped in 9 with 10 rebounds for Temple (4-2), who shot just 4 of 26 from beyond the arc.
Landon Atterberry had 13 points and eight rebounds, and Gerrell Martin added 12 with eight boards for LIU Brooklyn (0-4), which shot 35 percent from the field on 21-of-60 shooting. Zanna chipped in eight points and nine rebounds.
