You've got to give NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Danica Patrick credit where credit is due.

Heading into the weekend, Patrick saw the weather report for Pocono Raceway was dicey at best and immediately began mental -- and puppy -- preparations for surviving the inevitable rain delays.

She daydreamed about a recent vacation with one Instagram post, and posted about her puppy on two others.

Without a doubt, she probably survived Friday's cancellation of Sprint Cup practice better than most. She may need to go to her happy places again on Sunday, with rain in the forecast that may delay the running of the Axalta We Paint Winners 400 at the Tricky Triangle.

Patrick will roll off the starting grid in 33rd after struggling find speed in her No. 10 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet in Friday qualifying. Her surfing skills, though, obviously are top notch.

Meanwhile, Patrick also will be staying busy this weekend by joining play-by-play announcer Adam Alexander and analyst Michael Waltrip in the FS1 broadcast booth for Saturday's 1 p.m. ET XFINITY Series race at Pocono, weather permitting. She's also carrying FOX Sports Go decals on her Sprint Cup car throughout the weekend.
