The Arizona Diamondbacks activated infielder Geoff Blum from the 60-day disabled list on Monday and placed infielder John McDonald on the 15-day disabled list

Blum has not played since April 16 due to a strained left oblique. The 14-year veteran had gone 1-for-11 in his first eight games with the Diamondbacks this season after missing the majority of 2011 with right knee inflammation and a fractured pinkie finger.

McDonald, also out with a strained left oblique, has appeared in 33 games this season and hit .267 with four home runs and 12 RBI.
