Curry's basket with 27 seconds left sends James Madison past UNCW 64-62
HARRISONBURG, Va. – Ron Curry's layup with 27 seconds left lifted James Madison to a 64-62 victory over UNC Wilmington on Saturday.
Chris Dixon's 3-pointer with 54 seconds remaining got the Seahawks (8-20, 2-11 Colonial Athletic Association) even before Curry made the game-winner for the Dukes (10-17, 5-8). After Curry's basket the Seahawks missed a pair of shots.
Curry finished with 13 points. Andrey Semenov, with four 3-pointers, led the Dukes with 18 points with Charles Cooke and Andre Nation adding 10 each. The Dukes helped themselves at the free-throw line, making 19 of 26.
Tanner Milson, with three 3-pointers, led the Seahawks with 11 points.
JMU led 34-26 at halftime and was up by as many 13 points with 18:31 minutes left before UNCW worked its way back to take a one-point lead with 4:18 remaining. A basket by Curry with 1:32 left gave JMU a 62-59 lead.
