CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev has suffered a knee injury which could keep him out for up to six months.

Akinfeev collided with Spartak Moscow striker Welliton over the weekend during CSKA's 2-2 draw with Spartak, and although it has not yet been definitely determined how long the 'keeper will be sidelined, CSKA coach Leonid Slutsky is not optimistic.

"Judging by the mechanics of the injury and the symptoms, Akinfeev has ruptured cruciate ligaments," Slutsky told UEFA's website.

It now appears as though Akinfeev will miss out on CSKA's Champions League group stage matches with Inter Milan, Lille and Trabzonspor in Group B.
