Dallas quarterback Tony Romo has returned late in the fourth quarter against Washington after leaving in the third following a sack.

Romo stayed on the ground for several minutes after turning backward and ducking while linebacker Keenan Robinson closed in on the QB on Monday night. He came back for a drive in the final 2 minutes of a tie game.

Romo reached for his back after the hit and was motionless before trainers rolled him onto his side. He walked to the locker room mostly under his own power.

The 34-year-old Romo had surgery for a herniated disk last December after getting hurt in a win over the Redskins. It was the second procedure on his back in an eight-month stretch.
