DETROIT (Reuters) - Michigan and Michigan State set a world record for attendance at an ice hockey game on Saturday, when they played in front of an announced crowd of 113,411 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The game billed as, "The Big Chill at the Big House" smashed the previous record of 77,803 set at last year's International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) world championships in Germany.
The attendance, which is being audited by the Guinness World Records, would be the largest for any event at the Michigan Stadium and would also be a record crowd to watch any NCAA event.
The Michigan Wolverines won the game 5-0.
