Green Bay Packers rookie Randall Cobb returned a kickoff 108 yards for a touchdown Thursday night to tie the NFL record.

Cobb was spun horizontally by a hard hit from New Orleans' Leigh Torrence, but remained on his feet and sprinted down the left side of the field in the third quarter of the 2011 NFL season opener.

He tied the record for longest kickoff return set by Ellis Hobbs of the New England Patriots, who scored from 108 yards against the New York Jets on September 9, 2007.

Cobb was selected by the Packers out of Kentucky in the second round of this year's draft.
