Matija Nastasic will miss the beginning of the Premier League season after it was announced Tuesday that the Manchester City defender will be out for roughly one month with an ankle injury.

The 20-year-old sustained the injury in City's preseason friendly against Sunderland last month, but the Citizens only now revealed the extent of the setback, announcing on their official website that he will be sidelined for "four to six weeks."

Joleon Lescott looks set to fill in for Nastasic, who performed admirably last term alongside captain Vincent Kompany upon his arrival from Fiorentina last summer.
