Acapulco, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Top-seeded Dominika Cibulkova defeated Urszula Radwanska 6-3, 6-4 in first-round action Tuesday at the Mexican Open tennis event.

Only one seeded player fell on the red clay at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess, as Sharon Fichman downed fifth-seeded Yvonne Meusburger 6-1, 6-3.

Second-seeded Eugenie Bouchard, third-seeded Kaia Kanepi and eighth-seeded Zhang Shuai all moved on, the latter two needing three sets to do so.

Other wins came from Yanina Wickmayer, Victoria Duval, Aleksandra Wozniak, Julia Goerges, Caroline Garcia and Lara Arruabarrena.

Sara Errani, who is not defending her title this week, beat Carla Suarez Navarro in last year's final for a second straight championship in Acapulco.
