Chris Eversley scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Cal Poly to a 62-55 win over Cal State Northridge on Thursday.

Kyle Odister came off the bench to add 14 points for the Mustangs (9-14, 5-5 Big West), who ended a four-game losing streak.

Stephen Maxwell had 18 points for Northridge (12-14, 4-7). Stephan Hicks added 12 points, Tre Hale-Edmerson had 10 with 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and Josh Greene had 10 points.

Cal Poly only made 5 of 8 free throws in the last 1:19 but it was enough. Northridge missed four shots and had two turnovers in its final five possessions after closing within 57-55 on two free throws from Hicks with 2:06 to play.

The Mustangs never trailed, taking a 31-25 lead at the half. The lead got up to nine in the second half but the Matadors kept clawing back.
