Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed defensive back Ron Parker.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but reports this past weekend indicated the contract to be worth at least $25 million over five years with $8 million guaranteed.

Parker played in all 16 games and started 15 for the Chiefs last season, his second with the team, spending time at cornerback and safety. He notched 94 tackles with one sack and one interception.

"I am happy we were able to work out a deal with Ron and his agent to keep him in Kansas City," said Chiefs general manager John Dorsey on Monday. "He is a versatile player with a great attitude that's made a positive impact on both defense and special teams. Right from the beginning of this process, we wanted Ron back in a Chiefs uniform."

The 27-year-old South Carolina native joined Kansas City just before the start of the 2013 season after being waived by Seattle. He appeared in five games with Oakland and Seattle in 2011, then appeared in five games with Carolina and Seattle in 2012.
