Kansas City, MO – The Kansas City Chiefs placed running back Jackie Battle on injured reserve Saturday.
Battle has appeared in all 15 games with four starts for the Chiefs this season, recording career-highs of 149 attempts, 597 yards and two touchdowns. He has also added nine receptions for 68 yards.
The five-year veteran had seen an increased workload this season because of the season-ending injury to Chiefs starting running back Jamaal Charles in Week 2.
Kansas City signed running back Shaun Draughn to replace Battle on the roster for the Chiefs' final game of the season on Sunday at Denver.
Draughn was signed by Washington as a rookie free agent earlier this year and has spent 13 weeks on the Chiefs' practice squad.
