Bridgeview, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Fire announced Tuesday that forward Mike Magee underwent a right hip procedure to address an injury of the labrum and to repair articular surface damage.
Magee is expected to miss six to eight months while recovering from the procedure, bringing his season to an end.
"It's unfortunate that Mike will be out for an extended period, but he's been struggling this season with the injuries," said Fire head coach Frank Yallop. "After consulting with our medical staff, we decided that this was the best time for Mike to have the procedure."
Magee, the reigning MLS MVP, scored seven goals and added four assists in 17 regular season matches this term.
