SAN DIEGO – Chargers running back Ryan Mathews returned to the practice field for the first time since spraining his right knee on Sept. 14 but will not play in Sunday's game at Miami.
Mathews did limited work Friday. The Chargers have their bye next Sunday and Mathews hopes to play in a home game against Oakland on Nov. 16.
Also listed as out are cornerback Jason Verrett, who has a torn labrum in his left shoulder, and inside linebacker Manti Te'o, who hasn't played since fracturing his right foot Sept. 21.
Safety Jahleel Addae, who suffered a concussion in a loss at Denver on Oct. 23, hasn't been cleared to return and is listed as doubtful.
Linebacker Jerry Attaochu (hamstring) is listed as questionable.
