San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Chargers will not have leading rusher Ryan Mathews available for Sunday's key AFC South clash with the Denver Broncos due to an ankle injury.

Mathews exited last Sunday's 23-14 loss to New England in the second half with the injury and did not practice at all during the week. The Chargers had deemed him questionable on their final injury report.

Rookie Branden Oliver and Donald Brown are expected to handle ball-carrying duties in Mathews' place for Sunday's tilt.

Tight end Ladarius Green is also inactive for San Diego after sustaining a concussion in the New England game.
