Chargers' Gregory suspended four games for banned substance

NEW YORK (Reuters) - San Diego Chargers strong safety Steve Gregory has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, the NFL said on Monday.

Gregory, in his fifth year with the Charges, appealed the test result but was told on Monday his appeal had been rejected and his suspension will begin immediately.

In four games this season, Gregory had a team-high 30 tackles to go with one interception.

He will miss Sunday's game at Oakland and will be eligible to rejoin the team for their November 7 contest against the Houston Texans.
