INDIANAPOLIS (Reuters) - The San Diego Chargers continued their domination over Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts with a crushing 36-14 victory Sunday.
The Chargers (6-5) intercepted Manning four times, returning two for touchdowns, as they defeated the Colts for the fifth time in their last six meetings.
"It has that same feeling when we play the Colts, it's like a playoff game," Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers told reporters after throwing for 185 yards and not committing any turnovers.
"We've been on the 'W' side of it now for a few times in a row."
San Diego's fourth straight victory overall kept the team one game behind the Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC West Division lead, while Indianapolis (6-5) remained tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars at the top of the AFC South.
The Chargers took a 16-14 halftime lead thanks in part to Kevin Burnett's 29-yard interception return in the first quarter and completely controlled the second half.
Nate Kaeding converted five field goals for the Chargers.
The struggles continued for Manning, who now has seven interceptions in his last two games - the most over any two-week span in his career.
Manning threw for 285 yards and two scores but it was another forgettable game against San Diego for one of the NFL's most decorated players.
The Colts lost for the third time in four games as they played without injured running back Joseph Addai (shoulder), wide receiver Austin Collie (concussion) and tight end Dallas Clark (wrist), who is out for the season.
"Hopefully we can get some guys back (next week) against Dallas," Manning said. "If we don't, the guys that are starting with myself, just have to play better."
