The Hoops continued to dominate on the opposite side of halftime as Leigh Griffiths' 61st-minute goal and Anthony Stokes' late strike granted the club a comfortable victory.
Celtic has dropped points just four times this season as the club improves to a remarkable 81 points from 30 games.
St. Mirren has lost two straight to remain second from bottom on 27 points.
Elsewhere in the Premier League on Saturday, Adam Rooney and Ryan Jack scored to help Aberdeen overturn an early deficit and get a 2-1 win over Kilmarnock, William McKay produced the lone goal in Inverness' 1-0 defeat of Partick Thistle, James McFadden and John Sutton notched the goals for Motherwell in its 2-1 victory over Ross County and Hibernian suffered a second successive defeat as it fell at St. Johnstone, 2-0.
