St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Cardinals activated first baseman Lance Berkman from the 15-day disabled list on Sunday.
He is in the lineup for Sunday's matchup with Atlanta.
The six-time All-Star was placed on the DL on April 20 (retroactive to April 19) with a strained left calf. He missed 20 games.
Berkman, in his second season with the Cardinals, is batting .348 with a pair of runs batted in through seven games. He hit .301 with 31 homers and 94 runs batted in last year, earning NL Comeback Player of the Year honors.
To make room for Berkman on the roster, St. Louis optioned outfielder Shane Robinson to Triple-A Memphis. Robinson was batting .311 over 23 games for the big league club.
