Arlington, VA – The Washington Capitals signed forward Filip Forsberg to a three-year, entry-level contract on Friday.
The 17-year-old Forsberg was selected 11th overall by the Capitals in last month's NHL Entry Draft.
In 43 games with Leksand in the second division of Sweden's senior league last season, Forsberg totaled eight goals and nine assists.
