VANCOUVER (Reuters) - The Vancouver Canucks snapped a four-game losing slump to defeat Colorado 4-2 on Wednesday and join the Avalanche at the top of the Northwest Division.
Goaltender Roberto Luongo made 21 saves and the Canucks (11-7-3) had goals from four different players to hand the Avalanche (12-8-1) their first defeat in five.
For Kesler, the score was his 10th of the season and the 100th of his career.
"It's not that big of a deal," Kesler told reporters. "It's 100, obviously it's a nice milestone, but it's all from hard work, my line has been working really hard and it's good to get a greasy one like that."
Matt Duchene converted a wrister to cut the Avs' deficit to one goal, but Alexandre Burrows beat Peter Budaj to cap the scoring.
Avalanche goaltender Craig Anderson left the contest after the first period with a groin injury. It was just his second game back after hurting his knee last month. Budaj came on and allowed three scores in 12 shots.
The Avs also lost defenseman Adam Foote with a leg injury, and the team said both players will be evaluated on Friday.
"I think Peter came in and played fine. I don't think there was any issue there," said Colorado coach Joe Sacco.
"We didn't play our game, though. That was the bottom line."
