Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price was on the ice Tuesday for the morning skate before Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals against the New York Rangers, but still won't play in the remainder of this series because of a lower-body injury.
Price was hurt during Game 1 when Rangers forward Chris Kreider crashed into the netminder during the second period. Price played the rest of the stanza, surrendering four goals, before sitting out the third period of the 7-2 setback.
The Canadiens said Price worked Tuesday morning in full pads with goaltending coach Stephane Waite and athletic therapist Graham Rynbend, but still won't play.
Montreal is hoping Price can return if the team rallies past the Rangers and reaches the Stanley Cup Finals.
