Canadiens blank Rangers, halt win streak at 7

Carey Price stopped 17 shots and Brian Gionta 0 defeat at Bell Centre.

The Rangers were aiming for their first eight-game streak since the 1974-75 season, but were utterly dominated and suffered their fifth straight loss in Montreal.

The Canadiens also got goals from Erik Cole and Tomas Plekanec in the victory, their fourth in the last six games. Price recorded his second shutout of the season and the 14th of his career.

Martin Biron allowed four goals on 31 shots in the setback.
