Lucian Bute retained his IBF super middleweight round unanimous decision over Glen Johnson Saturday night.

Bute (30-0, 24 KOs) consistently punched better than the 42-year-old Johnson (51-16-2, 35 KOs) and successfully defended his belt for a ninth time, winning by scores of 120-108 from two judges and 119-109 from another.

The 31-year-old Bute, fighting in his home country again after a victory over Jean Paul Mendy in Romania in July, had his streak of six victories by a form of knockout ended.
