Bucs activate rookie RB Sims

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers activated rookie running back Charles Sims on Saturday and waived kick returner Trindon Holliday.

Sims, a third-round pick out of West Virginia, suffered an ankle injury during training camp on Aug. 12 that required surgery.

The Bucs promoted wide receiver Marcus Thigpen and defensive tackle Matthew Masifilo from the practice squad going into Sunday's game in Cleveland.

Thigpen is expected to return kicks against the Browns, according to the team's official website.
