Bruno Martins Indi returned to training for the Netherlands at the World Cup after missing the final group game with concussion, indicating the defender may be available for the last 16 match with Mexico.

Martins Indi worked out with the squad Tuesday at the Dutch training ground in southern Rio de Janeiro. He sustained a concussion in the second group game against Australia and missed Monday's 2-0 win over Chile, which confirmed Netherlands as Group B winners with three wins from three.

Captain and striker Robin van Persie also trained after sitting out the Chile game due to suspension.

Favorites with many for the World Cup title, Netherlands will play Group A runner-up Mexico in the second round on Sunday in Fortaleza.
