BOSTON (Reuters) - The Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins have signed defenseman Adam McQuaid to a three-year contract extension, the National Hockey League team said on Thursday.

McQuaid, 24, had three goals and 12 assists in 67 games last season, his first full campaign with the Bruins.

His regular season rating of plus-30 was the best among rookies and fifth overall in the league.

The Bruins, who last month beat the Vancouver Canucks in seven games to win their first Stanley Cup since 1972, have also signed forward Craig Cunningham to an entry level contract and defenseman Zach McKelvie to a one-year deal.
