Cleveland Browns strong safety was back at practice Wednesday after missing the last two games with a concussion.

Whitner started the first eight games of the season before suffering the concussion against Arizona. Whitner's 55 tackles is second on the team behind Karlos Dansby despite missing two games. He also has three passes defensed, a forced fumble and 1/2 sack.

Three Browns players remain in the protocol. Cornerback Joe Haden has also been out since the Arizona game while receivers Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel were forced from Sunday's loss to the Steelers after absorbing two big hits in Pittsburgh.

The Browns will take the rest of the week off as they head into their bye week and return to the practice field next Tuesday.
