Brown, Kona headline All-NEC

Somerset, NJ – Bryant University junior running back Jordan Brown was named the Northeast Conference's offensive player of the year on Wednesday.

Brown is a finalist for the 2011 Walter Payton Award, which is presented by The Sports Network, sponsored by Fathead.com and bestowed on the outstanding player in the Football Championship Subdivision.

Duquesne junior safety Serge Kona was named the NEC's defensive player of the year.

Rookie of the year honors went to Monmouth wide receiver Neal Sterling (offensive) and Albany linebacker Kyle Jordan UAlbany (defensive).

Albany's Bob Ford claimed the coach of the year award.
