Milwaukee, WI – The Milwaukee Brewers placed pitcher Marco Estrada on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
Estrada suffered the injury in the fifth inning of Monday's 10-2 loss to the Oakland Athletics.
Over 12 starts this season, Estrada is 4-4 with a 5.32 earned run average.
The Brewers recalled pitcher Tyler Thornburg from Tripla-A Nashville to replace Estrada on the active roster.
Thornburg made three starts and five relief appearances for Milwaukee last season. He posted a 4.50 ERA without factoring in a decision. Over 12 starts this season for Nashville, Thornburg is 0-7 with a 6.75 ERA.
