Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Chris Narveson day disabled list to start the opener of Monday's doubleheader in Pittsburgh.

Narveson landed on the DL earlier this month after accidentally slicing his left thumb with a pair of scissors while repairing his glove.

The southpaw posted an 8-6 record with a 4.49 earned run average through his first 23 outings this season for the NL Central leaders.

Milwaukee designated infielder Felipe Lopez for assignment Sunday to make room for Narveson on the roster.
