West Bromwich, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Daley Blind fired home a late equalizer on Monday as Manchester United earned a point in a 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.
The hosts were on the front foot early on Monday and grabbed the lead after just nine minutes when Liverpool loanee Andre Wisdom got free down the right wing and sent a low cross into the box, allowing Stephane Sessegnon to step to the ball and smash an unstoppable strike into the top right corner.
Louis van Gaal's side went into the break down a goal and the Dutch manager's first substitution was Belgian international Marouane Fellaini, which paid off almost immediately as the Red Devils grabbed an equalizer in the 48th minute.
$100 million man Angel Di Maria whipped a cross into the area that was expertly taken down off the chest by Fellaini, who took a quick touch to his right and smashes it near post into the roof of the net.
The Baggies reclaimed the lead in the 65th minute as United defender Phil Jones stepped up and Saido Berhino took advantage, sliding in behind the defense via a great through ball from Chris Brunt before curling it into the bottom corner, leaving United goalkeeper David De Gea with no chance.
But the Red Devils again battled back with a late equalizer three minutes from time when Blind jumped on a loose ball in the box and ripped a low strike with pace that just squeezed inside the near post and past a diving Boaz Myhill in the West Brom net.
Manchester United remains in fourth place in the Premier League table with 12 points with the result, while West Brom moves into 14th place with nine points.
