NASSAU, Bahamas – Tiger Woods has played his first tournament in just over 15 months, and it showed on Sunday in the Hero World Challenge.

Woods returned from two back surgeries and plenty of rust to lead the field with 24 birdies at Albany. The reason he finished 15th in the 17-man field were six double bogeys, which also was the most in the field.

He made three of them in the final round, including the 18th hole for the third time this week. That led to a 4-over 76.

Even so, Woods said he was happy to be playing again, considering how bad he felt at his tournament last year. This is not an official tournament, though he at least starts his climb from No. 898 in the world.
