Slaven Bilic will step down as manager of Croatia after the Euro 2012 finals this summer, it was announced Thursday.

"This is my last championship in charge of Croatia. I have always given my best and, now, I am fully focused on Euro," Bilic said.

The 43-year-old Bilic took over Croatia in 2006, and guided the country to the quarterfinals of Euro 2008, where it lost on penalty kicks to Turkey. Croatia did not qualify for the 2010 World Cup, but downed Turkey in a playoff to make Euro 2012.

"We showed in 2008 that we know how to play and we will be ready again," Bilic said.

Croatia is in Group C in Euro 2012 with Ireland, Italy and Spain.
