Rex Ryan and the New York Jets are motivated by the low expectations by fans and the media.

Ryan says Thursday that his team doesn't believe predictions by some that the Jets will finish among the worst teams in the NFL are true and that the prognosticators motivate them. The Jets were 6-10 last season, and lost several key players from that team.

Offensive lineman Willie Colon, one of the Jets' newcomers, say the team just needs to "show up on Sunday and punch a lot of people in the mouth and wake them up." Colon adds that he's sure many teams "have us checked off on their schedule."

While some preseason rankings have the Jets dead-last in the league, Ryan insists his team will be "much better than that."
