Jonathan Bernier stopped 32 shots, James van Riemsdyk scored the winning goal early in the second period, and the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Calgary Flames 4-1 Tuesday night.

Peter Holland scored midway through the first period and Phil Kessel and Mike Santorelli had empty-net goals in the final minute of the game for the Maple Leafs.

Markus Granlund got the Flames on the scoreboard with a power-play goal early in the third to make it 2-1. Jonas Hiller had 25 saves as Calgary lost consecutive games in regulation for the first time this season.

Toronto, coming off a 3-2 loss to San Jose that snapped a four-game winning streak, finished its homestand 4-1 and improved to 6-1-1 following consecutive lopsided losses to Buffalo and Nashville.
