In a game with significant playoff implications, the Dallas Stars posted a 4-1 victory over the Calgary Flames at American Airlines Center on Saturday.

Jamie Benn scored two goals and Kari Lehtonen made 35 saves, including 29 over the final 40 minutes, for the Stars, who secured two precious points in the opener of a home-and-home set.

With the win, Dallas moved to the top of the Pacific Division standings. However, the stay in first place could be short-lived. The Stars are currently one point ahead of Los Angeles and Phoenix, both of whom are in action later Saturday. The Kings host Boston, while the Coyotes visit San Jose.

Miikka Kiprusoff stopped only 16 shots for Calgary, which suffered its fifth straight loss. The Flames are three points behind Phoenix for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
