Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones is again in trouble with the law.

The once troublesome corner, formerly known as "Pacman," was arrested Monday on one count of assault after allegedly punching a woman outside of a bar last week. He will be held overnight in the Hamilton County jail.

Jones brought his arrest to light earlier in the day in a tweet that read, "Just got arrested for protecting myself, I will not let this break me or change what I have work so hard for ...."

The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that according to police, a verbal altercation between Jones and the woman led to said assault.

A former first-round pick of the Tennessee Titans, Jones has had multiple run- ins with the law since being drafted in 2005.

He was banned from the entire 2007 season for numerous violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy and was suspended for the first four games of the 2008 campaign after an alcohol related incident with a security guard.

Jones has spent his last three years with the Bengals and also had a one-year stint with the Dallas Cowboys.

The 29-year-old West Virginia product agreed to a new three-year contract in March. He started five of the 16 games he played last season, recording 40 tackles with one sack and a forced fumble.
