Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cincinnati Bengals activated wide receiver Andrew Hawkins from injured reserve on Thursday.

Hawkins suffered an ankle injury during the preseason and was placed on the recallable IR, meaning he had to sit out the first eight weeks of the season.

The 27-year-old Toledo product started two of the 14 games he played last season, his second in the NFL, and finished third on the Bengals in receptions (51) and receiving yards (533) while catching four touchdown passes.

The Bengals also signed defensive end DeQuin Evans to the practice squad after waiving him earlier in the week.

Evans was cleared to rejoin team activities on a roster exemption on Monday after he finished serving an eight-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. He was waived by the Bengals a day later.

The visiting Bengals play the Miami Dolphins on Thursday.
