Lake Forest, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Willie Young's career season is over one game early after the Chicago Bears defensive end tore his Achilles tendon in the team's most recent contest.

The Bears placed Young, who has amassed a team-best 10 sacks in 15 games, on injured reserve Tuesday while signing defensive end Austen Lane.

Young suffered the injury to his left foot during the second half of Sunday's 20-14 loss to Detroit.

Signed to a three-year contract by Chicago back in March, Young added 55 tackles and 13 quarterback pressures while emerging as one of the Bears' top defenders in 2014.

Young had recorded just six sacks over his first four NFL seasons, all with the Lions.

Lane played in 28 games with Jacksonville from 2010-12 and two with Detroit last season. The 27-year-old was released by the Bears during final cuts in August.
