Lake Forest, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bears made a move towards bolstering depth along their offensive line on Sunday, agreeing to terms with former New Orleans Saints center Brian De La Puente on a one-year contract.

De La Puente comes to Chicago after starting all 16 games in the middle for the Saints over the last two seasons and opening 44 contests over the past three campaigns. The 28-year-old also started four postseason games for New Orleans over that time frame.

The four-year veteran is expected to serve as the primary backup to starting center Roberto Garza as well as returning guards Kyle Long and Matt Slauson.
