The Chicago Bears signed center Roberto year contract extension on Tuesday.

Garza, who will be with the Bears through the 2013 season, has started all eight games this season at center. Chicago's offensive line has paved the way for Matt Forte, who is second in the NFL with 805 rushing yards.

In 102 contests for the Bears in seven seasons (2005-11), Garza has 93 starts. He made 76 starts at right guard and nine at left guard before moving to the center position this season after Olin Kreutz left the team following a contract dispute.

Originally selected by Atlanta in the fifth round of the 2001 NFL Draft, Garza has started 124 of 154 contests with the Bears and Falcons (2001-04).

The 5-3 Bears are coming off a 30-24 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.
