BOSTON (AP) Boston College receiver Chris Garrison was taken off the field on a stretcher in the first quarter of Saturday's game against Buffalo with a fractured left tibia.

Garrison, a redshirt freshman, went up high to catch a 44-yard pass from quarterback Patrick Towles at the Bulls' 11-yard line when he came down awkwardly on his left leg with 2:09 to play.

Trainers rushed to the field and called for a stretcher before putting an air cast on his leg.

At the end of the quarter, the school announced the injury.
