New York, NY – Baylor is once again the undisputed choice as the top team in the Associated Press women's college basketball poll.
The Lady Bears completed an undefeated regular season Saturday with a 24-point rout of Iowa State and won't play again until the Big 12 quarterfinals. Baylor received all 40 first-place votes and a total of 1,000 points from a nationwide media panel, earning the unanimous top spot for a 14th consecutive week.
Stanford, Notre Dame and Connecticut held firm from two through four for a third straight week, while ACC Tournament champion Maryland moved up a spot to fifth. Duke, Delaware, Miami-Florida, SEC Tournament champ Tennessee and Green Bay complete this week's top 10.
The second 10 consists of Penn State, Kentucky, St. John's, Purdue, Georgia Tech, St. Bonaventure, Ohio State, Georgetown, Louisville and Nebraska. Purdue vaulted seven spots from 21st after winning the Big Ten Tournament crown.
Georgia, Texas A&M, Gonzaga, Rutgers and West Virginia are the last five teams ranked this week. West Virginia is the lone newcomer, replacing South Carolina.
