Baylor defensive back Ahmad Dixon has been arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor assault.

Waco police say Dixon attacked a 21-year-old man last week at an apartment building near the Baylor campus. Police say Dixon accused the man of breaking into his apartment several months earlier, and when the man laughingly denied the allegation, Dixon punched him several times in the face.

Police say the victim waited several days to contact police because he feared retribution.

Dixon surrendered to police on Thursday. Dixon is a senior safety with 16 tackles so far this year.

A Baylor spokesman did not immediately return a request for comment. No. 19 Baylor is off Saturday and hosts West Virginia next week.
