Munich, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Bayern Munich midfielder Arjen Robben is expected to miss six weeks with a knee injury, the German club announced Thursday.

Robben sustained the injury in Bayern's Pokal Cup defeat of Augsburg on Wednesday.

"Arjen Robben has a deep cut, down to the knee joint," said Bayern team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt. "A boot forced the right femur to be pushed in at the knee joint and there was huge bleeding."

Robben will miss Tuesday's Champions League tilt with Manchester City as well as the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco, to be played from Dec. 11 to 21. With the Bundesliga's winter break commencing on Dec. 22, the Dutch international is not expected to play again until the end of January.
