MUNICH (AP) Bayern Munich is to create a training camp for refugee children and adolescents while donating a further 1 million euros ($1.1 million) toward refugee projects in response to the European migrant crisis.

The Bundesliga club says youths attending the camp will be provided with German lessons, meals and football equipment.

Bayern players will walk out for their next home game, Sept. 12 against Augsburg, holding hands with a German child on one side and a refugee child on the other ''as a symbol for the integration of refugees.''

More than 2,000 migrants arrived by train in Munich on Tuesday, when police said they were ''overwhelmed'' by donations from residents.

Some 800,000 migrants are expected to arrive in Germany this year, a fourfold increase on last year.
