Philadelphia, PA – Raph Rhymes went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI as the LSU Tigers took the Baton Rouge Regional with a 5-1 win over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.
Alex Bregman went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI of his own for LSU (55-9) which will face Oklahoma in Super Regionals action next weekend. Brent Bonvillain allowed just one unearned run over 5 1/3 innings of work and was credited with the win.
Caleb Adams went 2-for-4 for Louisiana (43-20) but the rest of the squad had just one hit as the Ragin' Cajuns were eliminated. Cody Boutte allowed just a single run in 4 2/3 innings but was responsible for the loss.
Louisiana defeated Sam Houston State, 7-5, earlier in the day to make it into the regional final.
